Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy, the chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh, has urged medical and health officials to do appropriate preparatory exercises before incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into medical education in the state. On Wednesday, he met with senior authorities to discuss medical services such as Arogyasri, pharmaceutical delivery to long-term patients, and the use of AI technology in medical education.
Jawahar Reddy stated that the state government places the highest importance on the medical and education sectors, investing thousands of crores in infrastructure. “To achieve better results, the AP government would like to include AI into medical education, so that individuals may reap immediate or speedier advantages. Medical officials should conduct a preliminary exercise and submit a report on the application of artificial intelligence in this field. According to the chief secretary, AI may be extremely beneficial to medical students in areas such as robot-assisted operations, medicine dosage and delivery, epidemic prediction and prevention, unusual illness diagnosis, unique disease patterns, and age-specific diseases.
He proposed that actions be taken to implement an alternative method of reaching patients on schedule. M.T. Krishna Babu, Special Principal Secretary (Medical & Health), discussed the steps being taken to ensure the seamless implementation of the workers’ health program (EMS). He said that the deadline for the employees’ medical reimbursement program is the end of March next month. Similarly, measures are being conducted to raise the ceiling limit for treatments not yet covered by EHS.
