Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has launched a BTech in AI and Data Analytics, starting in the 2024-25 academic year. Ranked #1 by NIRF, IIT Madras will admit 50 students through the JEE (Advanced) exam. The program, offered through the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI, emphasizes Math Fundamentals, Data Science, AI/ML Foundations, Application Development, and Responsible Design. Founded with a Rs. 110 Crore endowment by alumnus Sunil Wadhwani, the program aims to be a leading AI school globally. The curriculum includes foundational courses in linear algebra, calculus, machine learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning, alongside practical experience through labs and projects. The program also focuses on real-world applications and ethical AI deployment.
